*Add to the above disclaimer that I am also not a certified dermatologist- or a beautician. also- if you happen to have sensitive or delicate skin, or suffer from any allergies or special skin conditions-please don’t experiment on your face after reading some whacky post online.
Actually, even if you have problem-free facial skin(and who has that kind of skin outside the Disney studios?)-I think it would be wise to try new ideas derived from online blogs- on a hidden spot (beneath your chin or something like that)- before finding out the hard way the scrub wasn’t for you after all.
OL- now that I warned all the warnings- I want to emphasize once more the fact that everyone should do their own research before doing anything in this world of ours- and that includes, naturally, whatever you put on your face.
Speaking of naturally-
This coffee scrub is 100% natural, organic, vegan, costs 0000$, and it works like magic on my specific face– it might not do anything to yours- or you might even respond poorly for some reason again- use your brain before. oh -and also avoid it if you hate the smell of coffee (for some reason some people do- not judging, but what??). but it might also be the best scrub in the world for you- as it seems to be for me.
I drink 1 cup of black coffee a day- first thing in the morning- while still fasting.
I found out that more than one cup causes my eyes to start twitching, and my sleep hours are widely condemned at my household as it is -so not more than 1.
I never ever wash my coffee cup remnants down the kitchen sink- because coffee ground stick together and stick to fat in the drain and cause drain clogs which are a known bummer.
Also -ground coffee is excellent compost for my compost pile, so I spoon the remnants into my compost bin- and go on about the rest o my day.
That is- until recently.
Now- if any of you want to ask -why would I recommend a coffee scrub -which obviously after rinsing it off the face- inevitably goes down the drain-
Well- apparently you are not alone -because when I searched the web looking for potential hazards of said coffee scrub- I found a whole elaborate article stating the possible drain clog .
To this I say- people- the amount of coffee ground needed for an entire facial scrub is around 1/16 of a tsp-maybe even less. No way this amount will cause any clog- because this is the usual coffee residue I still have in my cup after discarding the grounds in my compost bin.
So- I drink my coffee, and when the cup isn’t hot anymore- I take a tiny bit of the residue, with my spoon, and after rinsing my face with water- regular- faucet water- I scrub my face with the coffee grounds- really- a little goes a long way- if your face is a little wet from the water rinse- and I strongly advise that it will be- otherwise it can scratch your delicate facial skin- then rinse it off with water, then I add a little scrub with the leftover lemon cut that I use to spice up my water cup.
I rinse again- with water- then tap dry with a towel- and apply my usual facial cream/ and voila!
Shiny clean face with all the coffee ground benefits- for 0000$.
What benefits? here is a link to an article. I must say I see no reason to add sugar- white or brown for that matter- or coconut oil.
Why? because “if it ain’t broken- why fix it?”
Some people don’t react well to coconut oil- and adding sugar- especially in the summertime- is an open invitation for ants to join in. also – brown sugar is a bit harsh for my (slightly aging) skin.
I know this may sound preposterous- but listen- my skin is actually tighter and though I’m hesitant to say it out loud- it is glowing. seriously.
This post should be titled “instead of botox -part 3”.
But don’t forget- first on a hidden spot!
Enjoy- the cooliflower.
